The UAE events industry lost two of it’s finest proponents this week due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Covid-19. Well known Dubai presenter Richard Coram passed away in UK and in Dubai, Nigel Beaton, also lost his battle with the disease.
Richard Coram and his wife Padma launched the event management firm, Talent Brokers and pioneered the live entertainment arena in Dubai, before it became a regular occurrence. The company brought large-scale concerts and shows to the emirates, including Lionel Richie, Elton John and Rod Stewart.
In a condolence message, Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice-Chairman & CEO, Dubai Duty Free, said: “My wife Breeda and I extend our condolences to Richard’s family on his sudden loss.”
Nigel Beaton was the Managing Director of the Gulf Crewing Company and a hugely well respected and liked member of the UAE events community. Both friends and colleagues described him as “a true leader, infinitely funny, charismatic, and so very good at everything he did.”
On an Instagram post, friend and business partner Shane Manning said “We were both in hospital fighting this bastard virus, both absolutely broken from it, but he was still positive, still having a laugh.
Rest in peace mate… light up the sky tonight.”
Our condolences go out to both their families and loved ones.
